Welcome To 4th Grade!!

As a new year approaches I am very excited for each and everyone of you to be in my class! Fourth grade is going to be a year filled with learning and engaging activities. I will create a positive learning environment where all students feel comfortable discussing their thoughts and opinions with each other. I will work my hardest every day to help everyone grow both academically and socially.
To help you make a smooth transition to 4th grade I want to start by telling you a little bit about myself. I am married to a lovely wife, Lauren, and have a 22 month old son named Brodie. We spent the summer traveling to Chicago, Lake of the Ozarks, Colorado, and Mexico! These were great opportunities to relax and spend quality time together. Below I have attached a few pictures from these trips. Lauren and Brodie love to hear about what is going on in our classroom and hope to make a few visits throughout the school year.

I hope everyone is as excited as I am for the upcoming school year and I will see you all very soon!

Here We Go With Round 2!!

The first semester is in the books and it is time to jump right into semester number two! There are quite a few items I would like bring to every one's attention:

  • Grade cards go home this Wednesday, January 9.
  • Kansas Day Celebration is January 29th. The feast starts at normal lunch time (11:50 a.m.), but the setup starts @ 11:30. Right now the majority have requested to bring in applesauce or a dessert. That leaves us short in the meat group, so if anyone is interested in bringing a meat let me know! When you bring your supply you only need to provide enough for my class (23 students), not the entire 4th grade. Call/email me with any questions.
  • The Midwest states is set for Wednesday, January 16th. Students must be able to locate and correctly spell each state. The states and capitals test will be Wednesday, January 23rd. Each student has a study guide to help them.
  • This quarters book report will be over a biography. A pink rough draft packet will be coming home this week explaining it.
  • Please sign your child's planner and check homework every night. Incomplete work started to become a problem during the 2nd Quarter, I don't want that trend to continue.

Items this week:

  • Spelling- List 19 test Friday; Spelling cursive for homework Tuesday night
  • Reading- Medicine Past & Present story
    • Vocab for homework Monday
    • Test Friday
  • Math- Topic 10 Fractions
    • Homework sheet every night
  • Social Studies- Continue working on Kansas PowerPoint
    • Wisconsin book due Wednesday
    • Missouri due Friday
  • Science- Continue with Sound chapter
  • Weekly Review 18 due Friday
Hope everyone has a great week!
